Walk the trail.
We move the hotel.

The Idea

Twelve days of walking.
One very good bed.

Walk a National Trail the usual way and you sleep somewhere different every night. Twelve beds, twelve showers, twelve breakfasts of wildly varying quality, and an itinerary shaped by whichever rooms happened to be free rather than by where the walking naturally ends.

We are building something different. You walk. We drive. At the end of each stage the Grand Tourer is already there, levelled, warm, the kettle on and the hot water running. Your bags travelled with us, so you carried nothing but a day pack. In the morning we take you back to the exact spot you stopped, and you carry on.

Each Morning

You walk

Dropped at the precise point you finished the day before, carrying a day pack and nothing else. No repeated ground, no road walking to find your bed.

Each Afternoon

We move

Your accommodation drives to the next stage end and settles in. Levelled, heated, and waiting long before you arrive over the last rise.

Each Evening

You stop properly

A hot shower, dry kit by morning, dinner on board or a lift to the pub and back. No packing, no unpacking, no hunting for the next place.

The Vehicle

Built to stay out where the walking is

The best stage ends are rarely next to a campsite with an electric hookup. Our new Grand Tourer is specified to stay comfortable for days without one, so we can park where the trail says we should.

Power300Ah lithium battery with solar and an onboard generator. Days off-grid without a hookup, whatever the Pennine weather does to the solar yield.
HeatingFull habitation heating and hot water. You will arrive wet more than once. You will start the next morning dry.
Air ConditioningSoft-start habitation air conditioning in the living area, running off the inverter. Rare in a vehicle this size.
StarlinkSatellite internet on board. Most stage ends on these trails have poor or no mobile signal. You stay contactable.
Hydraulic LevellingA level bed and a level shower on a sloping farm field, in about two minutes.
Dogs WelcomeAs on every Blazing Red tour. Bring them. Most walking holiday operators cannot promise this across a whole route.
The Routes

Where we are starting

First to launch

Hadrian's Wall Path

84 miles  ·  7 to 8 days

Coast to coast across the neck of England, following the most spectacular Roman frontier in Europe. Well served by roads, which means we can meet you almost anywhere, and comfortably the best introduction to a supported walk.

In development

The Pennine Way

268 miles  ·  16 to 19 days

The original and the hardest. Kinder Scout, Malham Cove, High Force, Cross Fell and the Cheviots. The stretch where having a warm bed waiting matters most, and where beds are hardest to find.

Planned

The Cotswold Way

102 miles  ·  7 to 10 days

Escarpment edges, beech woods and honey-coloured villages from Chipping Campden to Bath. The gentlest of the routes and the prettiest.

Planned

Coast to Coast

197 miles  ·  13 to 16 days

Wainwright's route across the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors. Three national parks, sea to sea.
